Membership Criteria

Membership Criteria for the Northern Territory Professional Hunters Association (NTPHA) consists of:

Only safari businesses that operate in the Northern Territory can become full members.
Businesses must carry legal permission to Hunt on private land.
The business will pledge to uphold the Code of Conduct.
Be a business that is committed to the ongoing employment and training of professional Guides.
A business that maintains registered equipment and Firearms as appropriate for use in the Northern Territory. Proof of registrations and licences and Northern Territory endorsed Public Liability Insurance will be required.
This membership is available to those businesses that use Safari Hunting as a significant source of income.
The business must employ a minimum one Field Guide who holds a current Senior First Aid certificate.
All client parties guided by the business must have a representative present who holds a current Senior First Aid Certificate.

A person who upholds the ethos of the Code of Conduct.
Carries all appropriate Northern Territory licensing e.g. Motor vehicle/Shooters and insurance as required.
Is committed to ongoing training.
The member holds a current Senior First Aid certificate.

This membership is available to businesses, Government Departments, Statutory Authorities and others who are committed to the growth of the Safari Hunting industry and the development of professionalism within.

An Associate Member is a person who has an interest in the Safari Hunting Industry, whose business and employment does not derive from the industry.
A Probation Membership is a business or person who does not yet meet the requirements for business or individual guide membership. Probation period limited to two years.
